About this Project:
Transforming a Dated Bathroom: How Shifting the Door Unlocked Space and Style
Sometimes, the most powerful transformations come from the simplest changes. This bathroom, prior to our renovation, was a large, outdated space with the smallest shower possible—hardly an oasis for relaxation. But by simply relocating the bathroom door just 20 inches over, we unlocked a world of possibilities.
This small shift allowed us to introduce much-needed storage with a linen cabinet and create a shower that tripled in size—all while keeping the room feeling open and airy. The addition of a furniture-like vanity paired with a floating shelf brings both elegance and practicality. The floating shelf serves multiple purposes: it’s an inviting landing area for plants, candles, or cherished picture frames that add warmth to the space; at the same time, it cleverly acts as a cap for the tile on the wall.
The soothing combination of warm walnut wood tones, travertine-like stone counters, and a soft burnt pink linen closet infuses this bathroom with comfort and style.
Every detail was chosen to evoke serenity—a daily reminder that even small changes can lead to remarkable transformations in your home and in your life.
